So the road trip didn’t go as we all had hoped, but we did pull it together against the Indians for an impressive end to the trip. So with Joey back and now in the four spot in the line up, things are looking much more promising to reel off a run or two more a game.

One of the problems we have is our lead off batter, or should i say inconsistency of our lead off batter. When Willy gets on base, which is 28% of the time, he scores 67%of the time. Dickersons stats, he scores 49 percent of the time, come a lot from different spots in the line up. so with Dickerson leading off he scores at around the same percent as Willy. So what you ask “what does all this mean?” well it means our if our leadoff hitter gets on base, we score runs. I know this sounds like the obvious, but that’s a positive. If we can get Willy on track, or platoon him with Dickerson then our hitting problems are on track for the better. On top of that we will be getting EE back tonight or tomorrow. So lets all not sell the farm, or bag this season just yet, we are only 3 games back of the Central. With a ten game stretch playing 7 games against the division leading Brewers, and second place Cardinals. Here is a great chance to get back a few games.

So Votto’s DL stint was merely missed time, he comes back just as hot as when he left. I really have to commend him. He is one tough guy. The guy is trying to play baseball while having severe panic attacks, he then goes on the DL to take care of his problems, the right way. Then comes on Reds TV and explains his problems, doesn’t miss a beat and continuesd to lead our team. Hopefully he and doctors have come togther and he has an easy way to control this series matter. On top of an outstanding baseball player, who works very hard at his profession, he seems to be, above all, an outstanding person. Any team would love to have a guy like this on theirs, i am proud to call Joey a Red. I wish him the very best with this continually stressful condition, and hope that the worst is behind him.
